Chinese 牛 year!
Compared to last year's 9-day long leave from station duty, this year's break seemed to be ticking fast. Fetched 二姐 from airport on Saturday evening and it's a day gone! On 除夕, alicia, tze hau and me went for lunch at great world city before watching 赤壁 2. I was playing gooseberry when aveline 'pang-seh' me saying she'd watched already. =x
The 2nd sequel wasn't better off than the 1st, but it was a good movie nonetheless. As predicted, the actions were against the law of physics; mythbusters should do some experiments! Apart from the tactics used by that smart-ass 孔明 being good about this movie, the pace of the movie is taking ages from chapter to chapter. The battle wasn't even the bulk of the movie! 7/10.
After the movie, we had our mini-reunion dinner at 二叔 place. From then on till today, I had consumed food which will be worth for 6 days!
This year's celebration was a mild one. Nothing extravagant; nothing euphoric. Just 2 days to get-together with family. A decade ago, most of us wasn't suffering from the wrath of the working society or the stress from tertiary education. We have practically nothing to worry about. We had loads of time to spend enjoying this festive season. Now, we have to work, study or even serving our nation. Less commitment to freedom. But we'll still try to find ways to put down our burdens for awhile; that'll be a freedom more appreciated than before.
Organising for a BBQ anytime soon for the cousins...please keep your weekend free!

2008 rewind
The last few days 2008 was spent
chilling out with my cliques...
There was the 04S3A post x'mas, pre new year gathering at lim's house where we had a variety of finger snacks, over-ordered pizzas and topped-up with 50 satays and bbq chicken wings! It was a night where a person who was on a week starvation need not eat for the following week. lol Playing Wii was our only form of repentance for taking in so much calories. It can make you lose some calories with just 1 hour of play time. haha
Then was meeting aveline and ah hao to get a gift for 大姐 at wisma. Before that, aveline was hungry, so we had a 'high tea' at 鼎泰丰. The fried rice with prawns was still great (albeit a little expensive) but their service was still mediocre. 7.5/10. Finally, we settled with a cross necklace in no time! We wanted to watch 叶问 but it was full house by then...
Watched 叶问 with 大姐 with the complimentary tickets I got from HomeTeamNS. The ticketing counter auntie gave an austere expression and we didn't had a 2-way conversation while trying to exchange for tickets!!
I can say that it was the movie of the year 2008! The storyline was superb, action was flawless and fluent, needless to say the acting. A mixture of action, comedy, romance and culture. 10/10!
After having our rounds around the shops in bugis junction, we had our year end dinner with the cousins at ministry of food. I ordered the char siew ramen and it was great, but I thought the char siew I had at shokudo was a bit better. Anything to do with red beans for the dessert, you'll think that you're eating 100% sugar! Service was so-so. 8/10.
Went over to aveline's place and we had finished-off the entire game of taboo in just 3-4 hours!
Finally, the last day of the year was spent with the '77'党 at jian cheng's house for a round of steamboat while watching death note. This was the first time I ever finished a steamboat with no food left! No food wasted! Spent the new year playing citadels, pictionary and watching the beautiful mind. It was 6 am in a blink of an eye and we went for macs breakfast while leaving behind loba to continue his beauty sleep! lolx Went back to the room and slept for another hour while aidan and eric went back. Jian cheng was sleeping like a dead log, literally, before I handed over his 21st birthday present overdue. Anyway, we still had to give his mum a reply for the 初二 dinner over at his place...=)
