change of commanding parade

Yesterday marks the end of the 4 years of commanding stn 12 for the old OC. With the new OC taking over, hope we do not have too much changes. It's funny that only then were we able to see a smiling face on our old OC's face. lolx The new OC looks quite approachable and not those type of person who'll boss around or tekan people.

Another 7+ months to ORD~~!!!!!!!

pre-20th birthday treat

By popular demand...here's the blog entry...=p

Yesterday, some of the msco people - chang sheng, meng tak, tze rong, alvin, gary, jon, jon jr. and ken celebrated my coming 20th birthday!! Thanks guys!!

Actually I thought it was just a mini-celebration for people like tze rong or jon jr. as they just POP-ed. But after receiving the uncannily early birthday wish by yan siang, I suspected something fishy. xD

Anyway, we had our dinner at bugis' seoul garden. Afterwhich they handed me a set of t-shirt, pants and belt as my birthday present. And being well-known for coming up with 'creative' ideas, they forced suggested that I change to those... ...with immediate effect! Luckily the time was about 22 30 and not many people are around. Took some pictures before we headed to the national library to chill out; and jon jr. left for home. (Those passer-bys must be wondering why are we taking photos~ lolx)

It has been a long time since after A' levels that I/we ever had to walk around aimlessly - the sense of liberty with your own time. Finally we were able to start our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the workplan for 07'/08'! hahahaa Somehow, we sticked to organising a chalet. However, it's the time factor that makes it difficult to plan for everyone to be free. Well, only time can decide. (pun intended =D)

We actually decided to go back home at 00 30!!! Got back home around 01 00. Well, once again thanks for planning that wonderful night rendezvous gathering~ xD

Watch this space for the up-coming photo displays

mp3 player questionaire

This looks like a very random entry...but whatever...I'm bored anyway =D

1. Put your music player on shuffle.
2. Press forward for each question.
3. Use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesnt make sense. NO CHEATING!
4. Tag 5 ppl at their tagboard to ask them to
do this!

5. Bold the questions and with the answers, give your own comments on how it relates to the questions.

How are you feeling today?
Graduation - Vitamin C

Hmm...feeling abit EMO today...after coming back from a duty I've never been so ON THE BALL before!! =S

Will you get far in life?
杨丞琳 - 暧昧
"无奈我和你写不出结局
放遗憾的美丽
停在这里"

Sounds like a terrible life ahead~ lolx But surely everyone will get far in life! xD It's just a matter of perspectives.

Will you get married?
Can you keep a secret? - 宇多田ヒカル
Hmm, looks like I'm not the one proposing... hahahaha

What is your best friend's theme song?
美丽笨女人 - 李玟
I assume this question is pertaining to what I deem a best friend theme song will be...Well, looks like my best friends can't handle their relationships well. =x

What is the story of your life?
That's what I go to school for - Busted
Seems like I'm getting all the 暧昧 relationships. OH NO!!!!!

What was primary school like?
Wake me up when September ends - Greenday
As if I'm getting bullied in Primary school. Hmm, not really true. haha Still have my friends around. =)

How can you get ahead in life?
夜曲 - 周杰伦
"为你弹奏萧邦的夜曲 纪念我死去的爱情"

I'm quite a sentimental person. To get ahead in life, must 'drink water think source'~ lolx

What is the best thing about your friends?
第一天 - 孙燕姿
You mean this?...."你很搞笑, 你很奇怪,你头发很乱." hahahaha

"你说活在明天活在期待
不如活在今天的自在"

They're a bunch of optimists?

What is in store for this weekend?
Canon in D - Johann Pachelbel
Woot! Actually it was last weekend I guess. Thanks for Play! A Video Game Symphony to make a trip down to Singapore for their Asian Premiere! =D

What song describes you?
Kiss Me Goodbye - Angela Aki
It revolves around 'memory', 'destiny' and 'reality'. Go figure.

How is your life going?
遗失的美好 - 张韶涵
Does that mean it's going from good to bad.....and maybe bad to worst? Sigh...quite true when CSM is being implemented into stations at the beginning of this year and the recent change of our station OC this week. NS is really getting from bad to worst.

What song will they play at your funeral?
盛夏光年 - 阿信
"我不转弯我不转弯
我不转弯我不转弯"

This is getting eriee isn't it?

"长大难道是人必经的溃烂?"

Seems like adults still repeats their mistakes even when they grew up. tsk tsk...Maybe they'll only be enlightened when they're at their death beds.

How does the world see you?
千里之外 -
周杰/费玉清
See the lyrics for yourself.... =p

Will you have a happy life?
Fly Away - 梁静茹
"fly away 穷无尽是你深邃的眼睛
看着你就可以让我茫茫人海里感到安定
fly away 当我不顾一切无止尽追寻
有一
个人有一颗心才仅默默之中在那里"

Of course happy lah~!! =)

What do your friends really think of you?

人质 - 张惠妹
Hmm...me being a hostage? What queer friends I have!

Do people secretly lust after you?
Bat Country - Avenged Sevenfold
What a lustful and sadist secret admirer. I shall hire for some bodyguards!! lolx (P.S.: Actually this was one of the songs in my Pass-Out Ceremony video from 21st ERSC. =p )

How can I make myself happy?
梁山伯与茱丽叶 - 卓文萱/曹格
"我爱你你是我的茱丽叶(茱丽叶)
我愿意变成你的粱山伯
幸福的每一天
浪漫的每一夜
把爱(永远)
不放开(i love you)"

Get married and live happily ever after? xD

What should you do with your life?
Somewhere only we know - Keane
Ah...being nostalgic and sentimental again... haha We should always look back on what made us as what we are today.

Will you ever have children?
Superwoman - 曹格
So, does this mean that I'll get a football team? xD lolx

What!? It stops here already...sigh..thought I could play along until my mp3 list runs out of songs! hahha

Well, I shan't tag any 5 scapegoats along...those who are bored and feel like doing this can take their time. =)

Play!

Woot!~ Finally able to get a ticket for last Saturday's Play! A Video Game Symphony. Jio-ed wenshu with me as well. =D Sad to say, the surrounding audiences were disturbed by the few people sitting beside me making lots of noise. Guess what?! They thought this 'symphony' was supposed to be trying out some video games. Well, they're partly correct as there were a few XBOX 360 demos for Blue Dragon®. They didn't know that this was a symphony concert!! What a waste of tickets and for those who were eager to watch this Asian Premiere.

Anyway, the concert was superb! =D It's better watching it live than watching it through your computer monitor from YouTube. xD This is an inaugural performance for Singapore Festival Orchestra. Well done for them as they only had a few rehearsals with the Principal Conductor before the actual concert with 19 pieces to perform. Maybe it's because some were professionals and some were winners from local competitions.

They played various songs from FINAL FANTASY®, SUPER MARIO BROS.®, SUPER MARIO WORLD®, CASTLEVANIA®, METAL GEAR SOLID®, BLUE DRAGON®, LOST ODYSSEY(TM), SONIC THE HEDGEHOG(TM), THE LEGEND OF ZELDA®, HALO®, CHRONO TRIGGER(TM), CHRONO CROSS(TM), WORLD OF WARCRAFT®, KINGDOM HEARTS(TM), SHENMUE(TM), DAYTONA USA(TM) and THE ELDER SCROLLS® IV: OBLIVION(TM).

Some pieces were quite nostalgic. With the 3 large screens showing video footages of the game itself with their theme's played, there was a sudden urge to re-play Nintendo and Sega games. Too bad SquareEnix refused to provide video footage for this concert in Singapore. Wonder why....? Bought a t-shirt from them at the end of the concert~xD

After the concert, wenshu went back to camp to continue his duty while I went to the library for some scores browsing. Jio-ed tzerong and jon jr. out for some free performances at Esplanade. The synthetic music arranged by one of the composer for Play! was uncalled for. I thought they would form up a small symphony ensemble. Later we went outside to watch a visual performance using sand by a person from France. The title was Luna Variations. He can really change and link from one 'scene' to the other; making connections with the moon (as the title suggest).

The newly POP-ed people were asking for some gathering; preferably within this week before they get their postings. Shall look forward to this meeting~ =p

cove paradise

One good thing about getting posted to AFS is that Sentosa Island is part of our station boundary. =D Having to make several trips to that island for hydrant testing isn't a dreadful task. Imagine getting the green light to get through all the entrances and security checkpoints... and most important of all - to be one of the first few people who are able to get into exotic/restricted areas =p

We went into the sentosa cove - a piece of land filled with bungalows/condominums with yacht at the 'backyard' (or backriver if there's such a word xD). With the many decorative structures around the precinct of the cove, it makes the place look more like you're on a foreign land. And each house will make you 7 mil. or 15 mil. poorer. (Depends on how the size of the house.) Think that was the first and the last time I'm stepping into that place again. (unless I'm so fortunate to get a friend who'll be staying there in the future~ xD)

Anyway,...back to reality... this morning went to J8 to purchase tickets for Play! A video game symphony concert with ws. Luckily we're able to get the much cheaper $26 (that's after 20% NSF discount =) ) price. While I got back home, they opened more seats; including the $20!!!! SISTIC WHAT HAPPENED...??!! Haiz...too bad...because of this ken can't watch with us.

The concert will be on this Saturday, 14 30 hours. Can't wait to hear it live...rather than on YouTube~ xD

SOLD OUT?!

PLAY! A Video Game Symphony tickets were all SOLD OUT!!!!!! WHY? WHY? WHY?!!!! Sigh...must I really go to Sydney Opera House? lolx Shall wait slowly for next year... ... wait wait wait I shall...

Today made a big round in the heart of Singapore. lol Went out with jon and ken to Hougang, then to Adam Food Centre to meet alvin for dessert. Then alvin went to church service while we went to esplanade to watch a free performance at the concourse. Didn't know that a simple tamborine can actually be used as a solo instrument! Not bad to infuse electro-synthetic sounds with the different sounds of tamborine, making it a comtemporary techno music.

Afterwhich, we had our dinner at marina sq foodcourt. To end up the loop, we end up in Serangoon having a bowl of beancurd. lolx That makes a complete loop for a day's journey. xD What a day!

long lay-on!

WOOT!! Yesterday there were 2 ERS trainee having a 1-day attachment with my rota, and boy did they brought us 'luck'! =x

As of yesterday duty alone, we had 3 PL121 calls, 1 LF121 call, 2 LF122 calls and 3 CP121(tat's me xD) calls!! The most tiring call of all was the 18 51 hrs 1 unit flat on fire. The hydrant was so FARRRR away that we had to have a long lay-on! And sad to say I'm the water supply section. =x Too many technical problems came to my way. Sigh....had to run to and fro (and mind you there's a sloping STAIRS!!) The whole operation lasted about 3 hours. It was too bad for the ERS trainees to miss this opportunity to be in a real fire incident before they POC.

Practically drenched the whole night and I didn't want to even take a bath as we'll need to wake up by 05 00 hrs. Hated that night! >_<>

the village

Me, jon and ken went to the village. Nope...it's not the M. Night Shamalan's movie - The Village...but SA Village. lolx

No choice but to support some of our msco juniors. If not they had to pay up the tickets themselves. =x The repotoire was rather light and casual with some contemporary essence in it. haha (Wonder why now most of the orchestras zou zhe ge lu xian...?) Some of the songs were even re-arranged by some of their own members. Not bad.

One wrote the symphonic version of "To Zanarkand". I think it was quite well-written but audio quality wise don't think the hall is a suitable place. lolx The acoustics and AV shi bu neng ting de lor! And the air-condition like in the 30 degree celcius range.

I rate it 7.5/10.

Coincidentally, I've just finish all the editing of my re-arranged Final Fantasy X - Ending Theme zong pu. Now have to spend my next few off duties re-writing the fen pu for all the instruments. Hopefully MSCO or NYCO is holding a concert soon...=D

Aye! Aye!

This is one of the rare opportunity to watch a movie in the morning. Sf, yx and me had our early lunch at PS then we went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End at 11 50 at the cathay.

POC - AWE has become what most third sequel in a typical trilogy movie have - a long and draggy storyline with a rather short action-pack footage. I guess usually the 2nd sequel of a trilogy is the best among the 3, no? =D Anyway, POC - AWE had some nice jokes, especially Jack's. lolx The ending wasn't what I'd expected as I thought Will's father would rather be the new captain for the Black Pearl. As for the 'Singapore' thingy, I found it peculiar and absurd. Don't know why, but just got that feeling. And they depicted the Asians in general as a laughingstock?! Especially one of the woman pirate lords...just look at her make-up! =X

And after all the loooooooooooooooong list of credits...they show a short footage 10 years later. How naughty of them to put it about 5 minutes after the show! xD The boy has a uncanny resemblance of the boy right from the first scene who starting singing while going to be hanged. I rate it 7/10.

Had a 10km run at ny in the evening. WooT! On my way back saw a pair of spectacles near the backdoor, then I saw an old man outside at the carpark searching his body. I drew my own conclusion and asked whether he lost his glasses. And yes did he lost his glasses! lolx Went back and picked it for him; luckily no one steps it. =x

End of my 5-day break...tomorrow will be returning back to station again!!!!....sigh....
