Woke up rather late yesterday...it was already 13 30!~ Still felt alittle sleepy. Went out with les to SLS as he wanted to buy a DVD burner. Later went to M SQ to fix his sister's MP3 player. On the way there, met aidan, edmund, alvin choo and another marist who board the same bus as us. Heard that they were going to The Oriental hotel for some cheapo dinner. haha...wonder if it was true anot. Anyway, back at the customer service centre, the scene when les passed his 11B to the salesman was quite amusing...=p
When the salesman received les's 11B, he pointed out that the 11B he used to have wasn't as sophisticated as of today's. He even cited an anecdote about times he went to outfield and by the last day, his 11B is soaked through. lolx By the way, the other salesman, known as 'zong3 cai2' (is he really a CEO or his parents have set a rather ambitious future for him? lolx), also agrees with him. xD Think we are the more fortunate generation...
We walked to the MS next to The Esplanade for our dinner. Since we ain't got anything to do, we visited The Esplanade's library. I was hoping to search for some scores but couldn't find any. Perhaps the library is too big. haha
Today went to eat tze cha at my er shu's stall with hk, xh, yx, les, marc, marcus and quek. Pity that john wanted to stay at home watch TV while low overslept. lolx We had sweet n sour pork, bbq stingray, hotplate doufu, kai lan, kang kong, salad you tiao and prawn sauce chicken wings. Total cost was 69$$! It's rather cheap for 8 people to eat. This was the first time for me to pay less than $10 for tze cha. And the good thing was that I was just full, so the quantity was quite alright.
Tomorrow will be in station counting down for year 2007 to arrive...Sigh...hopefully we will have some mini-celebration in the night. =p
It has been 3 years after graduating from MSHS and stepping down from MSCO. It had been a great experience throughout my 4 years in MSCO. All the staying-back-late meetings, dinner cum talk-cock sessions in Serangoon Central (especially at the ex-S11 or Macs), returning back to school to do miscellaneous stuffs (like drawing the still-unfinished-&-lost banner), typing all the administrative documents and not forgetting the multitude of performances and concerts we had in and out of school premises.
Up to this year, MSCO is 10 years old already. From an orchestra which doesn't have much performing exposure to actively participating in school events and bi-annual concerts. It's good to see (or rather hear =p) that the standard of the orchestra has imporved a notch since I last went back to help out. However, there's still much more improvement not only for their music but also the managment of the orchestra.
Holding the concert - "Reliving The Decade" yesterday to mark the milestone for MSCO for the past decade was really more of a celebration than a performance for us as rumours were always spreading that MSCO will be closing down since the time I stepped into this CCA. It was fun and sometimes amusing to practice with the new generation of juniors which I just got to know some of them. And before we knew it, the concert had already covered its curtain. Below are some photos taken from yesterday's concert...enjoy~

It was early in the morning 7am when I woke up for the first time today. For having a CO practice at 9am, I continued my sleep since the day is still early. lol When I woke up again, it was 10am already! xD
I quickly washed up and got to MS exactly at 11am. Heard that they are not using the song I wrote for them as the encore piece, cause they didn't have much time to practice it. Well, it's okay cause it'll not be nice also to play it in G Major rather than A Major. And I still need time to enhance more on the entire harmonics. lol Anyway, today's practice was the best of all the days I'd went before. Hopefully they can sustain it or even be better tomorrow. =p
Afterthat went for lunch at TPY with cs, wx and ken. Later followed wx and ken to apply to a job agency. Watched The Night In The Museum at The Cathay. It was a much better comedy show than I expected. lol Nothing much to comment...I rate it 6.5/10.
Met the '77' gang (w/o aidan) at PS to have dinner at MFM. Bought a black long sleeve shirt as my current one CMI liao. lolx
Hope tomorrow's concert would be a success! =p
Was invited to a gathering for lunch and perhaps followed by a movie today by les. Only me, zy, les, low, quek and marcus came. (now you know how hard it was to even contact someone~ lolx)Thought our lunch would be something out of the box but it turn out to be in LJS. lolx To my surprise, their serving is getting smaller and smaller. Imagine consuming 2 pieces of chicken fillet of dimensions about 1.5 times the size of their chilli sauce packet and fries which you could literally count with much less effort! Maybe they should rename LJS to KNS for a change. =x
Well, adelene promised to meet us but in the end backed out. Coincidentally, or not, she was in MS too. So, they sat down for her lunch at BK while zy and I went around again in search for xmas presents.
Zy found what he wanted to purchase but I'm not that lucky cause I couldn't find anything practical and useful. The search was futile for me.
Special thanks to quek whom treated us to catch Death Note 2 - The Last Name. The show was full of twists as expected. Didn't expect the last name to be written by L himself. Anyway, it's a pity that L used his last resort for the concluding end. Perhaps he couldn't think of any other way for Raito's identity as Kira to be revealed. The battle of the wits is, but of course, exciting to witness. However, being too smart of a plot may be quite unwitty afterall. Would there be a part 3? lol I rate it 8.5/10.
It's pleasant to see my cousin, affectionately known as ah hao, while I got home. He was trimming his hair but he brought along xmas cards for my aunt and my family. Special thanks to you to! =p Will send you one soon...perhaps by means of technology. lol
Sad that the rainy season is here. Hated it when it rains whenever you've got plans. No more rain please!!
Anyway, today went to watch Eragon with the MSCO juniors Melvin n gang + ken. All thanks to them that ken and I could get the tickets at the price of $6 only!! Eragon was somewhat like the fusion of LOTR with Harry Potter. The battle wasn't as fantastic as LOTR. Abit 'cao shuai' i guess. The magics were quite alright though. I rate it 6/10.
That aside, I just board a bus with a unique interior design while I was on my way home after my last duty. The usual double-seats concept was replaced with leather sofas at the front and rear together with individual leather seats at the center. Quite cool! Took a couple of pictures on my phone. lolx
I've been tolerating someone in the station for quite some time already (about 2 months+). Let's call this antagonist of mine (maybe for everyone too xD) 'fiend'. Fiend was someone extremely full of himself and overly proud of his a-twentieth of a century's experience. Perhaps it's not a quarter of a century's experience, such that he managed to have the Sergeant rank.
Fiend, who was a Sergeant, had far greater authority than other Sergeants and Staff Sergeants. He challenges them when he had a finest feeling that his welfare is being threatened. It's no wonder 'cause if his well-being wasn't taken into considerations while appointing him tasks, he can't give the morning CAAD (Chemical Agent Acclimatisation Drill) a miss, had to ask someone to buy exclusive food for him (OH! he still does it with or without his welfare being threatened...xD) and off to standby for the whole duty day at the locker room/mess room smoking.
Fiend really wants to deliver more knowledge to us people who has experience close or less than his a-twentieth of a century's experience. His teaching style is simple - listen attentively or be nagged at and answer correctly or be deemed not listening attentively (please see the previous one for the consequence). He'll always target his people of lower experience (definitely not lower in ranking) well to prove that his existence as a lecturer is but of course unchallengable. If not how can he justify the close-to-5k salary he's siphoning from the tax payers? Just remember one principle of his - "If other's have no knowledge about something (regarding SCDF stuffs) , it's sinful. If himself have no knowledge about something, it's because it just slipped off his mind at that point of time." (and it's understandable...and it must be...)
To wrap things up, SGT Fiend, who have lots of experiences in the locker room/mess room, will always try to provide 'verbal explanations' (might be mild to him) to anyone who doesn't deserve to stay in the force. (that's being incompetent and lack of theory knowledge) It's okay to be lack in experience...it's his all-time favourite!~xD
The National Arts Council's National Chinese Music Competition season is back this year! However, the standards seemed to have degraded. Most of them were either not prepared or had forgotten the scores. Yangqin this year quite promising though. Especially for the Open finals, 2 'black horses' surprisingly played well. Good for them to clinch the 1st and 2nd placings. Can hear that they'd improved alot since the past couple of years. Looks like I've got to catch up! =p
The MSCO concert is around the corner. Can say that they're still not prepared for it; and there are another 4-5 days of practices left. =x Hopefully they can be awakened...soon.
Woot! Good that I've passed my BCLS theory and practical tests. That means that I need not take any re-tests. Now I'm qualified to perform CPR and AED again. I'm still scared of BAPT and especially for IPPT, HRCT and REPT, where I can get monetary incentives for getting A/Dist. for them.
Now busy completing my FFXII, going for rehearsals for MSCO's up-coming concert and watching NAC CMC and perhaps the Asian Games. lolx Keeping myself busy...but these won't last for another year though...
Haven't been in town for quite some time already. Think my life is just drifting by day by day. Well, shall spent my time at home recovering; having a prolong cough since last week.
Last duty, the 22nd ERS came for station attachment. Time really flies. It has been 2 months already and by early next month, the new batch of Sect. Comds. and FFs will be sent to our station.
Yesterday went for NYCO gathering which was supposed to be at PRP but I ended up in ECP as I wasn't told about the location and assumed it to be held over there. Sigh... Luckily loba came to fetch me with his bike. It was my first time riding a bike and it was quite an enjoyable ride although it's not very safe. lol He even ride to a speed of 100km/h on the expressway!
Actually wanted to go meet with the S3A guys for klunch at TPY but my throat is getting very irritated recently. So had to give it a miss.
One more month and I'll be free from scrutiny!~
