Damn!! I missed a fire call today at 4am!!! =x Sian...will get punished by rolling hoses 10 times. Luckily my RC gave me a 50% discount. =p Cause I brought all my barang into e dryer to dry since I had a previous fire call from 8pm-12am; and it's really wet and smells too. Hai...hope this is the first and the last time that I would miss a fire call.
Still abit sick...all the flu and cough. The first fire call made my coughing worst as all the smoke and dirt goes into my respiratory system. Even my nose is filled of unknown black substances when I went to the toilet the blow out all of my mucus. =x
Wonder how will I able to survive this lifestyle...
What a wasted trip back to CDA this early morning for IPPT. It wasn't supposed to be counted for monetary incentive. Sigh...Whatever...
Anyway, had lunch with cs, mt and ws then met up with jy to visit msco. Jon also went as well. The standard still is quite bad, sad to say. And out of nowhere came that person whom shall not be spoken; infiltrating msco! =x Why of all people must invite him ar?! Damn! Rumour has it that that person whom shall not be spoken might be taking over msco!!!!!!!! That's even unbelievable!
Think must try ways to prevent such a catastrophe from happening... ...
Went to tr house straight after the practice with mt while jon fetched ken there. Had dinner over his house. Took some cold relief medicine cause had caught a cold these days and it's getting worst. Hope he's coping well ya!
I was appointed to be the LF122 SC the last duty, so I got to visit Telok Blangah Fire Post for the first time. (Although we went there in the late afternoon as we had our BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) tests before we went to the fire post.)
The place was as if a chalet in one of the eastern resorts. lol Moreover, it was said that there won't be much calls as well. This means that we'll have more free time for ourselves as we won't be having roll-calls like what we did back in station. Also, it's my first time spending only $3 on pizza for my dinner! =x
The disadvantage was that we had to take turns to do sentry duty while the rest 'rest', just in case a fire call really rang. That's why I feel even more tired than when I was in station for duty. Sigh...nothing is perfect.
Just purchased the FFXII Strategy Guide today! Can't wait to start! =)
Finally owned the Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition!!
Went to funan with my sis and bought the FFXII CE. It's quite ex. (149$ to be exact!) but whatever~ lolx The metallic package quite cool. Hope that its gameplay is much better than the rest of the previous sequels.
Too bad can't play as yet; tomorrow need to report back to station! T_T
Afterthat, went to vivo since my sis wanted to buy some clothes. Took about 30+ minutes! lolx First time staying at a shop for so long~ =p
Back home to test out the new game! =)
Just heard the recent news about the sudden GST hike which will be launched (I suppose) very soon. This is what I will say - the first backlash of getting mesmerized by the Progress Package and vote veto to the opposition. All the negative policies will start gushing in, drowning us to suffocation.
Back to the GST hike, how are we going to survive with the additional of 2%? It seems that everything is increasing - taxes, transportation fares etc.. .. when did we ever see them decrease due to an economic depression? I didn't! From the initial tax of 3% to 5% and now to 7%; it seems to have a 'healthy' rise throughout the past decade.
Like the high-income group whould care much about the survival of the middle and lower income groups. The rich are as if setting a challenge to the standard of living for the poor, but at the same time not letting them die off easily. The PM claimed that by increasing the GST, they will make use of the taxes "to strengthen the safety nets and tilt the balance in favour of the lower-income groups who do not benefit from the fruits of economic growth." They did 'benefit' from the fruits of economic growth (the progress package distributed by the government this year), but they were pilfered, bit by bit; and even more than what was alleged to be their bonus.
The government is having a major contradiction in the rationale for their policies. (who thinks otherwise?) What seems to be helping families with financial difficulties turns out to be like asking them to carry a boulder for life!
Will they ever hear our screams of distress when they have fallen on deaf ears?
Yesterday had dinner at j8 cartel. Much have changed since I last patroned the cafe. They are now charging for their services as they've revamped all their service quality by serving... ... ... ... practically everything! From your orders to free-flow bread to getting you the sauces you need. However, wanted to feedback that they should use bottle sauces instead of using small plastic containers. But the good thing is that they've add in more food in their menu. =p
After getting into station, life is quite mundane. Although it's good to rest on the 2 off duty days, it's quite boring just idling around the house. Sigh... ...what to do? Had been furiously (yes! I mean it! now downloaded almost 100 over animes episodes) watching animes. Then, it's back to station again...T_T
It has been my 10th shift duty (equivalent to a month) in Alexandra. I've more or less settled down and adapted to station life. However, I still couldn't adapt to their smoking culture. ( and never will!~ lol) Out of 10, there are 8.33 people smoking. And as the news reported, the PSI of an enclosed area (in my case the locker room) can go as high as 500! That's why I've been avoiding entrance to the locker room unless I urgently need to retrieve something from my locker. Ah...and 1 thing about my locker...it's situated in an unglamorous corner with clothes and miscellaneous stuffs getting hung across my locker to another locker. So I'll be having some difficulty in opening my locker fully to take things...sometimes it falls when I open the door too wide~ sigh...
Some colleagues there are nice and always there to offer adivce or help. However, a couple of them just like to be over authoritative and boss around...especially to the new comers or people of lower ranks. That's the reality in the uniform group organisations. (such 'rank' systems can also be seen in the commercial sectors as well) Just hope that the next batch of new comers will join us soon...so that their targets on us will be shifted. =p (That'll be in early January next year...)
Operational wise, I've gone for quite a number of incidents - 1 unit;1 room fire, unattended cooking, lift lobby fire, rubbish chute fire, oil spillage (after a RTA), NH3 leakage, as well as a few false alarms and cancelled calls. Went to 2 outside drills namely at the science park, botanic gardens mrt (still under construction) and some office/factory near our station. Also went for 1 hydrant testing (which was hot under the afternoon sun); some of which were calls made after midnight!
Last Saturday, there were 2 groups of visitors (foreigners with kids) who came to our station to look around. One of them was a caucasian; the other a japanese. Quite fun showing them around and giving them some hands-on experiences. At least more enjoyable than doing routine and drills. =p
The first time I heard of AMD is during GP tutorial last year. And just recently, the government is encouraging us to apply to this directive.
AMD is an even merciful way of letting an individual to die off naturally without any life support/medication if you're suffering from terminal disease or comatose, compared to euthanasia. Let's see the procedures to apply...
Firstly, the doctor would provide advice and both you and the doctor would need to sign for a successful appplication together with another witness. When that day comes, the AMD information of yours would be taken from MOH and after the confirmation by at least 3 doctors...that's it... ...wait and die.
It's quite interesting to know that most of the young generation are more acceptable to this directive than the old. Perhaps we view life differently. The directive is good because it can help to lessen the load of the families not only emotionally but also financially. The hospitals would also have more vacancies for emergency cases. However, the directive doesn't seem to be perfect as yet. I feel that it would be better if the directive includes to monitor the patient for another period of time before executing the directive. Just to ensure. Who knows; miracle happens.
If you ask me whether I would apply - I wouldn't... ...as yet. Just waiting for a better deal~ lol
